Paul “Whitey” McOmber

Paul 'Whitey' McOmber, son of Ross and Hattie Harris McOmber, was born on August 25, 1913, in North Rose, NY. He married Helen Margaret 'Geat' Marriot on August 23, 1935.

Whitey served in the Army Air Forces as a Sergeant during World War II. Stationed in the European theatre, he incurred injury and returned to the U.S. to recover; his active years of military service were 1943–1945. Whitey lived his entire life in the Hamlet of North Rose. He died on November 9, 2006, in North Rose and is buried with Helen in the Rose Cemetery, Rose, NY.

Throughout his life, Whitey worked as a farm laborer, at the Seelye Ladder Company, and as a carpenter for Warren Baldridge. Community memberships in addition to the North Rose Fire Department included the North Rose Lions Club.
