A member since 1986 who rose from truck lieutenant to nine years as assistant chief before leading the department.

Sean Guthrie was born June 16, 1967, in Buffalo, New York, and has been a member of the North Rose Fire Department since January 1986.

Member narrative

"During my time as both Assistant Chief and Chief I was involved in various projects such as building and truck committees, member of the Wayne County Chiefs Association and the Wayne County Decon Team.

At the time of this writing (2026) I currently am living in Clyde, New York, with my wonderful fiancé Jennifer and our 2 beautiful girls Nicole and Jenna.

In closing, I would just like to say that it was an honor and a privilege serving the department, members and community of North Rose, and if I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't change a thing, and my only hope is I left the department in a better place."
