William ‘Bill’ Henry Baker, son of James Baker and Annie Elizabeth Hutchings, immigrants to the United States from England, was born on Jun 10, 1898, in Fleming, NY. He married Milicent Sarah Strong in 1917 in Scipioville NY. William died in 1974; he and Milicent are buried at the Rose Cemetery, Rose NY.

William served in the US Navy during WWI (1918) aboard the USS Roanoke as a Boatswains Mate 2nd Class. The Roanoke was a mine laying ship operating out of Inverness, Scotland.
