Edwin Eugene 'Jack' Marshall, son of Paul Udell Marshall (1906–1984) and Charlotte Alice McOmber (1906–1984), was born on September 14, 1923, in Lyons, NY. He married Betty Jean Richardson in North Rose on August 20, 1943.
Jack was a lifelong resident of North Rose and a member of the North Rose Fire Department for 75 years (1942–2017). A graduate of North Rose High School in 1941 and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving with the 3rd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron.
He was also a member of the Wolcott Elks Lodge and the Wolcott American Legion. Jack was employed by Marshall Farms, where he retired with over 35 years of service.

"Serving the fire department was his first priority after his family. No matter where he was or what he was doing, he left immediately to help with an emergency or a fire.
I know he was well respected in the community; he always had time to listen and talk with anyone he met on the street. Probably one of his greatest character traits was his unconditional friendship and love he experienced with those he knew. It was important to him to always attend calling hours after anyone died in North Rose. I remember he always put on a suit to attend. Respect was important to him.
He adored my mom and would do anything for her. A great man! Dad's happy place was at his cottage on Bonnie Castle. He spent a great deal of his time there with his grandchildren boating and fishing."

"I remember having to be dragged to fires as a small child because I would be in the truck with him. Also, I remember a phone in our stairway that was attached to the fire hall, and would ring in our house when calls came in. I also remember a plaque they gave him when he retired; he had it hanging in the den. I used to laugh because he retired, then went back and did it again. I used to pick on him that he just wanted another plaque."
